New Ranking System at Alexa

I just checked my all sites ranking and I shocked that they improved very fast. Alexa has changed their ranking system. It was based on users of Alexa toolbar but now they are using other sources too that will make ranking more accurate.

Now all sites will get better ranking. They are not telling their secret this time but I think it will available in some month. They worked hard on users suggestion to improve their system. Many people who didn’t trust in Alexa ranking will start using this after this update. I checked many sites who had better rank but now their ranking is not good. Most of sites were webmaster related so they had better ranking. You can read here why they had better ranking.

My blog’s Alexa rank is now better. It jumped ~100k over last update. YouTube is not on no. 3 and Google is back to no. 2 position. Live.com is down to no.4. The biggest change is in Webmaster Blog and most in Make Money Online blogs. John chow dropped ~10k, Shoemoney dropped more then that, My favorite money blog jimkarter.com dropped ~100k.  And at last Digitalpoint forum and PayPal has also lost their ranks.

I think this new method will help to find which site is more popular. Now no need to depend on users of Alexa users. I don’t know which sources they are using for this but whatever they are, its better then before. Now directory rankings will also improve. Sites that has low webmaster or Alexa toolbar users traffic like wallpaper or music sites rank will be better. Now lets see what more we will get from this.
