Paid Directory or Free Directoy

This is not about submitting your site to directories, this topic is created for people who creates directory.If you are going to create a directory then who have to decide between two things. Free directory or paid directory.

I have both type of directories. I made free one first then paid one. Paid is new but I am earning more money then free directory. Free directory is more popular but when it comes to money creating paid directory is the best way.

At free directory I work hard to promote it. I got lot of submission, around 100 sites a day. It hard to check which site is goo, legal and delete the spam. At other hand, my paid directory I never saw any spam there and I am earning more money. The money form paid directory earn in a month is equal to free directory’s one years earning.

So I think I will never create any more free directory as they have not so much revenue. Paid one is always better. Why  have free when people want to pay.

But if you already have free directory then you can still earn money form this by selling links and banners or you can also offer some featured links for money. Many people can earn more money from free directories but i can’t. I can earn only traffic and get good Alexa rank  for free directory.
